Trend Alert: Black & White

With all the new Resort shows come new trends and I am very excited about one in particular: Black and white! Recently, the runways and red carpets have been dominated with jewel tones, color blocking, neons, brights, prints – you name it. We’ve seen very little of the classic color combination in the past few seasons but it provides the ultimate contrast and always looks classy.

 Black and white has cropped up in several of my favorite designers’ collections this Resort season including Celine, Marni, Altuzarra, Dior, Alexandra McQueen, etc. Here are some of my favorite looks:

Its very easy to wear this classic look as you do something as simple as a great black maxi skirt and a white silk button down or try the menswear inspired styles and wear your favorite little black dress and throw a great structured white blazer over the top. If you’re not quite sold on the stark look and want to keep some color in your wardrobe, black and white looks are great canvases for pops of your most flattering color. Add a bold neon or colorful necklace or a great pair of vibrant driving gloves! Bright shoes are also a great way to add some color!
